Overview

• Function: The heart of the property, fostering a sense of community.
• Facilities: 19 individual rooms, chapel, two conference rooms, three libraries, meditation room, bookstore, and two dining rooms.

Indoor Chapel

• Features: Vaulted ceilings, arched roof trusses, suspended light fixtures, large windows, handcrafted tabernacle, replica of the San Damiano cross.
• Purpose: Private contemplation and communal worship.

The Gathering Room

• Central Point: Coffee and tea station, fireplace, Theological Library.
• Theological Library: Over 2,000 books on St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi, faith, religion, spirituality.

The Library of the Disinherited

• Inspiration: Named after Howard Thurman’s book "Jesus and the Disinherited."
• Focus: Works of marginalized and excluded authors.
• Collections: Over 1,400 books, including the Madonna Room (African American authors) and the Friars’ Room (African American, Native American, women authors).

Bookstore

• Location: Adjacent to the lobby.
• Collection: Books and merchandise focused on spirituality, justice, beauty, grief, doubt, theology, and environmental care.

Meditation Room

• Location: Residential hallway of the Main Lodge.
• Purpose: Quiet prayer, contemplation, reflection, meditation.

Conference Rooms

1. Francis and Clare Room

• Capacity: Up to 50 people.
• Amenities: Overhead projector, Apple TV, chairs, folding tables, small guest kitchen.

2. Justice and Peace Room

• Capacity: Up to 20 people.
• Amenities: Conference table, piano, organ, 55-inch TV with Apple TV.

Dining Rooms

• Purpose: Social meals and gatherings.

2. Emmaus Room

• Specialty: Silent dining for contemplative experience.
